Avatar 2 is an upcoming American film directed by James Cameron and produced by 20th Century Studios. It is the second film in Cameron’s Avatar franchise after Avatar (2009).
Cameron is producing the film with John Landau, with Josh Friedman originally announced as Cameron’s co-writer; It was later that Cameron, Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Shane Salerno all participated in the writing process of the sequel before being responsible for separate scripts, leaving the final writing credits unclear.
Avatar is nearing its cinematic debut. The long-awaited sequel to James Cameron’s record-breaking Avatar remains firmly on course for its final release date. The first teaser came online in May, re-introducing us to the beautiful world of Pandora as well as confirming the title with the first teaser trailer. It sounds kind of crazy, Cameron admitted to EW about his plans for a sequel. I mean, if Avatar hadn’t made that much money, we never would have done it – because it’s kind of insane.

The trailer for Avatar 2, which was released in May, introduced new characters and an unseen side of Pandora. The film is looking great. While releasing the trailer, Cameron said, “With the first avatar, we set out to cross the limits of the big screen.
Jake Sully and Neytiri have created a family and are doing everything to be together. However, they must leave their home and explore Pandora’s territories. When an ancient threat reappears, Jake must wage an uphill battle against the humans.

Avatar 2 is scheduled to release on December 16, 2022, and will be distributed by 20th Century Studios the film will also be released in RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, IMAX, and IMAX 3D formats.
The film had eight delays, as the crew took longer to process the writing, pre-production, and visual effects. Initially, the film was scheduled to release in December 2014. Cameron had originally intended to release Avatar 2 in December 2015.
