The series finale of The Walking Dead received a decent rating on Sunday, delivering the show’s biggest audience in nearly two years.
Yellowstone cooled off somewhat from its record-setting fifth season premiere but still drew the biggest non-sports audience of the night, and the World Cup got off to a solid start for Fox Sports and Telemundo.
The Walking Dead drew 2.27 million viewers for its final episode — a far cry from its heyday in the mid-2010s, but the most prominent initial tune-in since February 28, 2021. The closing was 66 percent higher than the average for the same day. (1.37 million) for the final segment of episodes this fall and about 37 percent higher than the average for all of season 11. The episode’s 0.66 rating among adults 18–49 was also the show’s best since February 28, 2021.

The third episode of season five of Yellowstone drew 8.83 million viewers on Paramount Network (8.03 million) and CMT (801,000). That’s well short of the series record of more than 12 million viewers for its November 13 premiere.

Sunday on the broadcast networks, the NFL dominated as ever. CBS’s late afternoon broadcast received 27.55 million viewers, and NBC’s Sunday Night Football aired to 17.89 million (and 19 million across all platforms)
